Maui Day 3

Maui Day 3 -

Wednesday July 23rd

Ok, so this morning we had to be at a Timeshare meeting for the Wyndham. In order for us to get a discount on one of our excursions, we ended up having to do this to save some money. It appears that this happens a LOT in Hawaii, so be prepared for this when and if you ever go to Maui. We didn't really mind going since we really had zero plans for this day anyway PLUS they give you free lunch, so we thought it was a pretty good trade off.































The meeting took about 2 and a half hours or so. It was completely boring and hard to stay awake during. Basically it sucked having to sit through that, but we made it through fine and had a full stomach at the end of it all so we think we made out in the end.

After the meeting we had to run to Foodland (a grocery store there) to pick something up. When we parked at Foodland, I got out of the rental and noticed that the front quarter panel of my side of the car was sticking out. I pointed it out to Chris and then I managed to push it back in. I thought maybe it was just a fluke, but when Chris took a better look at the bumper, it was all scratched up. What we came to realize was that when the valet had parked the car for us the night before, he parked too far over the curb and managed to scrape up the bottom right side and whole under part of the bumper which caused the quarter panel to pop out. The scratches were pretty bad and needless to say we were not happy when we saw that.

We got what we needed from the grocery store, skipped our shopping plan and headed straight back to the Westin to let them know what happened (with very little hope that they'd believe us). We had to put in an incident report through their security guy. He, in not so many words, actually insinuated that we just turn the car in to Dollar Rental and not say anything. I didn't like that approach and told him I was going to call Dollar right now and my insurance company to let everyone know what happened, etc. We were given a manager's name and report number and then spent our afternoon making phone calls. Definitely not what we wanted to do on our vacation. :( After all that happened, I went and had my very first Mai Tai at the Beach bar in the Westin.























































We really couldn't do much about the car until we turned it in, so we decided to try to get on with our vacation and drove back to Lahaina Town to eat and do more shopping. Moose's was having a Wednesday special where you get two burgers for $10.95, so we decided to eat there. Their cheese fries and burgers were very tasty (maybe a little too greasy on the burgers, but still tasty nonetheless).
























































































































We shopped some more and then went back to the hotel. When we got to the hotel, I started to feel sick probably due to the cheese or grease from the burger and whatnot. I went to bed early not feeling well. :(

Overall, Wednesday was definitely our worst day on the island. :(
